A quasi trent’anni Aya si sente in trappola nella sua quotidianità con i genitori nel sud della Tunisia e non riesce a vedere alcuna prospettiva di cambiamento. Un giorno, il minivan che quotidianamente la porta tra la sua città e l’hotel dove lavora, ha un incidente, di cui lei è l’unica sopravvissuta. Vedendo l’occasione per reinventarsi, fugge a Tunisi con una nuova identità, ma presto tutto vacilla quando si ritrova a essere la principale testimone di un errore della polizia. Dalla Tunisia una profonda pellicola al femminile, stupefacente per la forza drammaturgica e ricca di contenuti importanti sui cui riflettere.
Aya, in her late twenties, feels trapped in her life with her parents in southern Tunisia, seeing no prospects for change. One day, the minivan she commutes in daily between her town and the hotel where she works crashes, leaving her as the sole survivor. Realising this could be her chance for a fresh start, she flees to Tunis under a new identity, but everything is soon jeopardised when she becomes the main witness to a police blunder.
