Eyüp è andato in bancarotta e ora deve lasciare Smirne e tornare a Siverek. Con l’aiuto dell’amico Ali inizia a lavorare in un campo dove fa essiccare i pomodori sotto il sole cocente insieme agli abitanti del villaggio. Eyüp è frustrato per non aver ricevuto la paga in tempo. Per gli altri, quel giorno tutto scorre tranquillamente. Dalla Turchia arriva un lungometraggio realistico e sincero, un’operazione fortemente allegorica che sceglie dei personaggi capaci di rappresentare la situazione contemporanea del paese.
Eyüp has gone bankrupt and now has to leave İzmir and return to Siverek. With the help of his friend Ali, he starts working in a field where he dries tomatoes with villagers under the scorching heat of the sun. Not being able to get his wage on time, Eyüp feels frustrated. That day things go as usual for others: Villagers continue working in the field as they joke with one another, while the foreman Hemme, having trouble sleeping because of the flies, seems anxious about not being able to get the job done on time.
